How to measure your child
A wetsuit needs to fit snug to keep water out. Here's how to get the right measurements in under a minute.
Weigh your child
Weight is the most reliable indicator for wetsuit sizing. Step on a scale together and subtract your weight.
Measure height
Have your child stand against a wall with bare feet. Mark the top of their head and measure from the floor.
Match the chart
Use both weight and height to find the right size below. If between sizes, weight is the better guide.
The Grom Fullsuit size chart
Sizes 2T through 6T, designed specifically for toddler proportions.
| Size | Age (approx.) | Weight | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2T | 18 months to 2 years | 24 to 28 lbs | 33 to 35 in |
| 3T | 2 to 3 years | 28 to 33 lbs | 35 to 38 in |
| 4T | 3 to 4 years | 33 to 40 lbs | 38 to 42 in |
| 6T | 5 to 6 years | 40 to 50 lbs | 42 to 48 in |
Between sizes?
Go with the size that matches their weight. Neoprene stretches slightly with use, so a snug fit out of the box is normal and will break in within 2 to 3 wears. A suit that's too loose will let cold water flush through and defeat the purpose.

What a good fit looks like
A properly fitting wetsuit should be snug across the chest and torso with no bunching or sagging. The arms and legs should reach the wrists and ankles without excess material.
Signs it fits right:
Snug across chest and back, you can slide a finger under but not a fist.
No air pockets or bunching at the lower back.
Sleeves reach the wrist bone.
Legs reach the ankle bone.
Your child can raise both arms overhead freely.
Signs it's too big:
Sagging at the lower back or seat.
Excess material bunching at the knees.
You can pull the neckline away from the body easily.
Free returns and exchanges
