California Proposition 65 Warning

⚠ WARNING

This product can expose you to chemicals including chloroprene (the chemical used to manufacture neoprene), which is known to the State of California to cause cancer. For more information, go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

What is Proposition 65?

California's Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) requires businesses to provide a "clear and reasonable" warning before knowingly exposing individuals to chemicals listed by the State of California as known to cause cancer or reproductive harm.

The presence of a Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean that a product is unsafe. Proposition 65 warnings are required when a product may expose a person to a listed chemical above a certain threshold, regardless of the actual risk level associated with typical use.

About Neoprene and Chloroprene

Neoprene is a synthetic rubber widely used in wetsuits, athletic gear, and other consumer products. Chloroprene is a chemical used in the manufacture of neoprene. According to California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), the level of chloroprene remaining in finished neoprene products is very low, and using neoprene products is unlikely to cause significant exposure to chloroprene.
